In 1986 Hella De Santarossa painted the history of the German Social-Democratic Party, although she herself was not a memeber. In an exceptionally short time she created a masterpiece for the 125. Jubilee of the SPD (Social Democratic Party). She worked day and night. Her telephones were disconnected and 3 assistants were at her side during the 2-month work-process. During this time she only met the leading figures of the party, whose presence helped to influence the structure of the image of the painting.
