So-called suitcase pictures, 2004

Pictures produced on the journey to Kurt and at Kurt's on the coast. They are made on small pieces of raw cotton, which can be put together arbitrarily or according to directions just like building blocks.
The motives are poppies. An interesting and striking aspect of theses pictures is the period in which they were painted. Hella Santarosse produced them in a break from her two-year deep involvement in the realisation of the Munich-Riem "Stations of the Cross".
Some of these works can be seen in the exhibition at "The Little Gallery " in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, UK., near Highgrove House, Prince Charles's country home.
